The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflte) WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART Brave Prince Tamino is on a quest for truth, beauty and love. Before he reaches journey's end he must find his way through a mysterious land, full of fantastical creatures and strange characters who will test his wits, his will and his strength of character. Welcome to the enchanting world of The Magic Flute. David Freeman's daring production of Mozart's final work for the theatre combines a talented array of singers with the daring aerial wizardry of physical theatre company, Legs on the Wall, and the ingenious designs of Dan Potra. Expect exotic beasts, dancing animals and death-defying stunts. Mozart's enthralling music reaches out to young and old, from the spine-tingling pyrotechnics of the Queen of the Night's 'O zittre nicht' to the simple beauty of Pamina's 'Ach ich fhls'. Ollivier Phillippe-Cuneo conducts an ideal cast: Emma Matthews is back as Pamina, with Hye-Seoung Kwon taking over for the second half of the run, while Andrew Goodwin and Henry Choo share the role of Tamino. Warwick Fyfe and Andrew Moran both appear as Papageno and making her role debut as Queen of the Night we introduce young Australian coloratura soprano Lorina Gore.
