Tobruk Sheep Station is situated 75 minutes north west of Sydney on a high plateau above the Hawkesbury River at Maroota. The property is surrounded by State Forest, with a spectacular uninterrupted view of the Blue Mountains.
The Tobruk Program sees a stockman on horseback meet you on your arrival.
At the Drovers Camp we enjoy freshly baked Damper and Billy Tea around the campfire before the Stockman and his dogs muster the sheep in from the paddocks to the work yards. The working dogs fascinate all visitors during their yard work. Upon entering the Woolshed, you become immersed in the history of the sheep industry, one of Australias oldest industries. Guests can try their hand at shearing with great photo opportunities. Enjoy the Wool Room Talk. A wonderful home cooked Aussie BBQ lunch follows.
In the afternoon we work off lunch with whip cracking and boomerang throwing. Everyone can have a go. This is a personal warm, family farm experience. General Information: Arrival Time 10.15am. Lunch 12.15pm. Departure 2.15pm.
Tobruk Sheep Station also offers senior and junior Jackaroo and Jillaroo camps during nominated school holidays.
The Station Homestead is open to the public and international visitors for farmstay. After an extensive renovation and upgrade, the homestead exudes the sort of warm country charm and ambience you would expect from an authentic country residence. Features include two queen and one double bedroom. The Homestead sleeps 12 in total.
