Located just off the eastern point of an island in Sydney Harbour, east of Bradley's Head, the island is accessible only by boat. The lighthouse is visible at close range from the island.
The lighthouse is still active with three red flashes every 8 s. There is a 12 m (40 ft) round cylindrical tower with lantern and gallery, painted white. The island is open to the public, but capacity is limited and reservations are required.
