Forget the Melbourne Cup or Formula One, the hottest racing action in Australia happens in Corowa annually on Easter Saturday. The Australian Billy Cart championships is an event for all ages with competitors racing down the main street in their home-made or professionally created designs. All competitors must adhere to the conditions of entry.
Sanger Street will be the centre of racing action and entertainment. Enjoy the live music and family fun activities including a jumping castle, children's face painting, plaster painting, clowns and lots more.
In 2007 we attracted entrants from all over Australia and International Irish TV channel TG4 with Hector O'Heochagin interviewing entrants and spectators, he was our celebrity scrutineer and he even competed in a race with our local Mayor, Mr Gary Poidivan.
In 2008 we had 106 entrants and even saw a witch fly down the street.
2009 will be even more spectacular!
