Echucas most picturesque Edwardian house, built in 1904 and named after Captain Cadell the pioneer riverboat captain. The original features of the house are cedar ceilings, fretwork, corbels, murray pine flooring and stained glass windows. The listed historic garden is set on 1/2 hectare of mature garden. Dominated by century old trees the house is situated in an established residential area and walking distance to the centre of town. There are two beautifully appointed bedrooms. 'Mothers Room' was formerly the nursery. It is now a spacious retreat featuring a king size bed, high cedar celings, kauri pine fire surround and direct access to the verandah. The ensuite is generous in size and has a two person spa. The 'Maids Room' originally accommodated the two maids of the house. The rebuilding now provides comfortable accommodation allowing our guest to enjoy the modern facilities with the experience of yesteryear. The queen size bedroom is specious, tastefully decorated with the ensuite modern in design. THE LOUNGE DINING AND KITCHEN ARE A SHARED FACILITY FOR THE TWO BEDROOMS. Access your entrance into the Lounge and Dining room featuring antiques,chandelier,prints and a persian rug on the murray pine polished floor. Additional to the split system air conditioning is a gas log fire for your winter warmth. From the lounge and dining room the hallway takes you to the modern kitchen which features all the appliances you would expect in a modern home. An extensive breakfast selection is supplied allowing you to sleep in and cook at your leisure.
