Built in 1934, Jones Store is one of the oldest surviving structures in the historic town of Newcastle Waters. The store supplied provisions such as butchery, bakery, and saddlery requirements. The Jones Store once sold provisions to the drovers who moved cattle over the Murranji, Barkly and north-south stock routes, as the junction of these routes was Newcastle Waters.
