Experience the vastness and the natural beauty of the outback at Kilcowera Station in South West Queensland. Driving or walking around Kilcowera you will see native fauna and flora in its natural surroundings, you will find small caves, gorges, unusual rock formations, creeks, waterholes, lakes and lagoons. The eastern side of Kilcowera adjoins the RAMSAR listed Currawinya National Park. Lake Wyara and the associated wetlands are of international significance as they provide refuge, breeding waters and habitat for migratory birds. Take a look at spooky Murder Bore where the villain James Callaghan murdered his offsider rather than pay him the wages owed to him. You'll discover what happened to the body and the murderer. Just a few kilometres from your accommodation you'll find Cardenyabba Lagoon another haven for wildlife, a top spot for a swim and for catching yabbies. Bushwalkers are catered for with two marked trails and all the station roads are walker friendly as well. Guests are able to fly or drive to Kilcowera, tours, meals; camping and accommodation are available from March through to late October.
