The Lake is a small natural lake situated 68 kilometres north-east of Aramac covering 20 square kilometres. This fresh water lake is perfect for swimming, water skiing, windsurfing, fishing and bird watching. A limited number of small chalets are available for hire but visitors are required to bring some items such as their own bedding. Lake Dunn, aboriginal name 'Pajingo Bola' meaning 'Big Fella Waterhole', is a birdwatchers paradise and is home to over 80 different species of birds. Getting to Lake Dunn is a pleasurable drive over the Aramac Range, through the desert country with its red sand, spinifex grass and wild heather, which flowers in spring. Cabins for hire sleep five people and contain a refrigerator and electric kettle. You will need to bring your own crockery, cutlery, bedding and food. Barbecues are available.
