The Sunshine Coast boasts kilometre after kilometre of stunning beaches, crystal clear water and beautiful white sands. From Caloundra in the south to Fraser Island in the north, there's a spot to suit every tasts - quiet north-facing beaches with gentle surf for families, through to famous surf beaches that attract board riders from around the world. So pack your beach towel and your sunscreen, and get ready for some serious relaxation.
Of course, not everyone enjoys non-stop sun, surf and sand. But on the Sunshine Coast, you'll find plenty of great ways to relax which don't entail getting wet, including the magnificent hinterland area with its arts and crafts trails, cosy bed & breakfasts, beautiful nature walks and awe-inspiring views. There's something for everyone on the Sunshine Coast.
Things to do on the Sunshine Coast:
* Get back to nature at the Australia Zoo -
run by Aussie adventurer Steve Irwin, famous for wrestling with
crocodiles, playing with dangerous snakes, and petting spiders.
* Go koala-spotting at the beachside Noose
National Park, where koalas are often spotted sleeping in the
gum trees.
* Queensland's first emu farm, at the Aboriginal
community of Cherbourg, is home to more than 400 birds, from
chicks to mature breeding adults.
* Enjoy a banana split and pineapple crush
at one of Australia's favourite icons, the Big Pineapple.
* Relax on one of the many beautiful beaches
that dot the coastline.
