Here is the world's largest island National Park, there is one hideaway lodge, one oasis within paradise, where your every need is anticipated, your desires completely satisfied. Romantic, intimate and completely refreshing. It is everything you have ever imagined a tropical island holiday to be. A genuine friendly welcome sets the standard. As you sip your first tropical cocktail and take in the gracious islander style decor of the main lodge, your luggage is whisked away to your own spacious, crafted timber treehouse. Relax, you're here. Step into your own private world. Don't lift a finger, unless its to indicate which of the menu selections tempts you the most because, as you'd expect, the food is unforgettable on the island. Delightfully...simply...perfect. Choose the ideal spot overlooking the beautiful sandy beach from your hammock, walk through virgin rainforests to a headland and capture the sunset, observe graceful herons or stately pigeons, or just watch as time goes by. Only 50 guests at a time can ever share the Hinchinbrook Island Wilderness Lodge experience. Chances are you'll never see that many. The resort is a relaxing 40 minute cruise and a world away from mainland Tropical North Queensland. Within a moderate walk you can enjoy absolute seclusion at North Shepherd, Macushla and South Shepherd beaches. At the very northern end of Orchid Beach, access is made to the lookout on Cape Richards, the best vantage point for sunset, dolphins and the Brook and Friendly Islands. Hinchinbrook Island is the largest continental island in the Great Barrier Reef, with spectacular mountains with steep cliffs, gorges, valleys and waterfalls.
