The Progressive Jewish Congregation in South Australia was formed in 1963 and dedicated its site at Hackney in 1985. The Beit Shalom Synagogue includes a sanctuary, a memorial library, an embroidered ark curtain and fused stained glass window Yerushalayo both by Raya Tsur an Israeli artist. There are three leadlight stained glass windows by contemporary South Australian artist Andrew Steiner (The Eternal Dream 1993, The Twelve Tribes 2001 and Bereshit In the Beginning 2002). Services are held regularly please contact the Secretary during office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 12pm for times.
