Bronte Manor is a grand yet rustic three-bedroom mud brick dwelling elevated amidst 35 hectares of trees and hills.
Cosy, yet spacious, the self contained (non hosted) accommodation is perfect for one couple, while two ensuite bathrooms ensure privacy for a single group of up to six.
Relax in the claw-footed bath and enjoy stunning views through large floor-to-ceiling windows. The long, baronial-sized living room with open fireplace separates each queen-sized suite.
Step out through French doors onto the slate terrace from every room in the house (except the third bedroom) and watch the sun go down behind a vista of stunning valley views with the racecourse in the far distance.
A third, twin bedroom has views to the hills behind.
Enjoy a bottle of complimentary local Clare Valley Red in front of a blazing fire or, in summer, a chilled White on the terrace overlooking the valley.
Lashings of local bacon, farm eggs, mushrooms, milk, bread and butter are provided, together with freshly ground coffee, and tea. There is also continental breakfast provisions, and for the evening tipple, a decanter of port.
Preparing food in the newly renovated and well-equipped kitchen can be a tuneful experience as kookaburras and other birds perch in the 100-year-old gums. The sweeping valley views are undisturbed by any other dwelling.
If you've brought any four-legged friends, you'll know your pampered pet is secure in a fenced-off area (with shelter) near the house as you head off to enjoy the nearby wineries and restaurants.
Depending on the weather, you can use the gas barbecue on the terrace and enjoy the feeling of being lord of all you survey from such an elevated position, or cook up your sausages on the wood-fired barbecue pit on the eastern side of the house while you enjoy uninterrupted views of natural bushland beyond the garden.
Bird life is abundant, and kangaroos are seen most days.
Restaurants, wineries and a first class golf course are easily accessible. Clare township offers good shopping facilities while the Clare Valley is noted for its fine wines, excellent wineries, scenic drives and the beauty of its trees and rolling hills. The area has an unspoilt rural charm about it.
For the cyclist or walking trail enthusiast, the popular Riesling Trail follows the old train line between Clare and Auburn (22 kilometres). The trail passes close to wineries, restaurants and scenic spots. It is sign posted and the full trail does not have to be negotiated.
