This premium wine-growing region is a one and half-hour drive north of Adelaide. The Clare Valley's wine heritage dates back almost 160 years, with the first vines planted in 1842 by James Green, servant to the district's pioneer John Horrocks. There are now more than 30 cellar doors in the region within a 15-minute drive from each other. A blend of photogenic landscapes and pioneer history makes this one of Australia's most charming touring regions offering a range of visitor activities.
