Of a standard you would expect from a five star inner-city hotel, these rooms revel in sumptuous furnishings of olives, browns, rich creams and ochre. A modern ensuite in each room completes the standard of luxury. More accommodation, in the cottage next door has also been recently refurbished with stylish retro design. The quirky converted trucks are also great for couples or families. Along with the revitalised surroundings, the menu at the North Star Hotel also has undergone a transformation, with a well developed menu that is sourced from the wonderful ingredients of the Southern Flinders Ranges area whenever possible. Another addition is the vast outdoor deck that allows diners to enjoy the fare while savouring the wonderful weather that South Australia enjoys year-round. The North Star Hotel also offers one of the best coffees you will find in the Flinders Ranges to be enjoyed while viewing the latest artists installation. Another unique feature of the North Star Hotel is its cellar door facilities for the Bundaleer Wines range. This winery is another shining star emerging from the Southern Flinders Ranges. Bundaleer Wines vineyard is on the edge of the Bundaleer Forest just a stones throw from the hotel. With its robust reds and a Riesling, it�s the perfect opportunity to take away a piece of the Southern Flinders Ranges in a bottle. For the walking and cycling enthusiasts, Melrose also is the meeting point of the Heysen walking trail and a network of bike riding trails making the hotel a great base for activities. The North Star Hotel offers modern food, wines, coffee and accommodation without losing any of its traditional integrity. Lunch is Wednesday to Sunday and dinner is Thursday to Saturday.
