Catch the spectacle of this two-day fun sailing regatta, including the mass start for all boats, which is a fabulous sight. Join the many visitors to Point Turton who enjoy this race, held on the Adelaide Cup weekend. Enjoy a barbecue and soft drinks for the Sunday race, available from 11.30am at the adjacent jetty. The Tavern on Turton at the top of the boat ramp is also available for meals and refreshments. The Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol fun day sailing regatta has no handicap. Launching facilities are via the boat ramp, and off the beach for smaller boats. Keelboat mooring is safe at Point Turton. A briefing will be held at 12 noon and the start will be at 2.10pm. The sailing course will be as close to the beach as possible and will be triangular, depending on wind conditions. The Monday race starts at 10.30am. The course will have marker boats on all buoys and approximately ten boats from the patrol will carry out the sailing and rescue duties for the day. Competitors finishing will receive a trophy and or acknowledgement.
