The Wheal Hughes underground copper mine at Moonta is an exciting adventure with visitors donning boots, hard hats and helmet lights. They descend to a depth of 55 metres to experience the massive chambers with multicoloured veins of ore and learn how Cornish miners worked in the 1800s.

Visitors are advised that a reasonable degree of physical fitness is required to tour the mine. Not available for children under six years of age.
