Award-winning Beachside Retreat is an ocean-frontage cattle property and wildlife retreat three kilometres from Stanley.
With absolute beach access to West Inlet and Bass Strait, guests can enjoy miles of private, sandy beach, swim, fish, beachcomb or collect wild oysters.
Numerous birds, including white-breasted sea eagles, habit the isolated shoreline and wildlife abounds.
Family accommodation is available in a three bedroom spa lodge, 30 metres from the beach. For couples, contemporary-style, award winning ecocabins and luxury nature cabins (one with a private outside spa pool) are sited on the sand dunes overlooking the ocean. Only 18 guests are in residence at a time and day visitors are not permitted.
The property, formerly part of the historic Van Diemens Land Royal Charter, is a grazing enterprise and breeds Maine Anjou cattle. The owners are committed to preserving the environment and are recipients of several Natural Heritage Grants.
A six-seater jet helicopter operates scenic flights over the Stanley Nut and coastline from a private helipad. On request, longer flights can include the Tarkine Wilderness and Three Hummock Island. For additional details of this unique property please view the linked web site.
