The 2009 NAB Cup will again see the NAB Cup and NAB Challenge taken to areas that do not regularly get the opportunity to experience AFL football. Set to commence on February 7, the 2009 NAB Cup features the AFL s 16 teams in a knock-out series with the final two teams clashing in the NAB Cup final on Saturday, March 14. The side that kicks the most goals in its three knock-out matches will earn the right to host the NAB Cup final. Teams that are eliminated from the NAB Cup join the NAB Challenge. In 2009 games will be played in Melbourne, Darwin, Canberra and the Gold Coast through the NAB Cup with Albany, Casey, Shepparton, Baulkham and Alice Springs to host matches during the NAB Challenge. The NAB Cup and the NAB Challenge is traditionally the first opportunity for supporters to see the new players who have come through the NAB AFL Draft and are set become the games future stars.
