The Cardross Scarecrow spectacular is held in the town of Cardross each year. From Saturday October 4 to Sunday October 12, 2008 scarecrows will begin to pop up along Dairtnunk Avenue, Cardross. With an array of traditional, whimsical or spitting Image, the Spectacular presents a fabulous display of scarecrows that capture the imagination of visitors as they browse through the entries. There is plenty of scope for the imaginative to the politically aware as well as the traditional, whipped from recycled material from dad's shed, mum's dress up box, the tip and the garden. 2008 is the fifth year of the event and is expected to grow again, along with the prize money. All entries welcome with entry forms available in May.
