The reefs that surround Mackerel Island abound with aquatic life, featuring a huge variety of coral gardens, sea canyons, turtles and a myriad of fish providing divers and snorkellers with plenty of world class sites. There is accommodation available on the island. The spectacular Mackerel Islands have long been renowned as an unparalleled destination for sports and bottom fishing enthusiasts. This coral atoll is six kilometres long and one point five kilometres wide, 22 kilometres from Onslow. The island is accessible by either boat or plane.
