Located off the Marble Bar Road north east of Newman this is an ideal spot to have a barbecue, swim or sail a boat (power boats are not allowed). The lake covers 13 kilometres square and holds 30 million cubic metres. The dam was completed in 1981 and is used to recharge the underground aquifers supplying Newman's water supply.
The turn off to the dam is 11 kilometres north along the Marble Bar Road on the right. Follow the gravel road for two kilometres and turn right. Another three kilometres in a southerly direction finishes at the sailing area.
This is a wonderful spot for a picnic, please check road conditions with the Newman Tourist Information Centre.
