Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Base. The original base on Richardson Street was first established in 1935 to service pastoral properties. The base is now located at the Port Hedland International Airport and is the headquarters of the Royal Flying Doctor network in the Pilbara. The School of the Air shares the same complex as the Royal Flying Doctor Base. They educate children in isolated areas all over the Pilbara region via radio. Lessons can be listened to while live on air.
