The Harvey River Diversion was built in the 1930s and was instigated due to the problem of flooding that took place every winter in the area. A channel was dug from Harvey to the sea at Myalup, it was extremely labour intensive and took several years to complete.
A park has been set up at the Baker Street section of the Diverson there is a commemorative plaque to honour the men who dug the Diverson.
Picnic tables and wood barbecues are in the park.
